About TrainYaar
There's always a way. TrainYaar looks for every sensible way to get between two places in India by train: direct trains, changes at junctions, switching stations within a city, and driving to a nearby station with better trains. It puts the options worth booking first.
This is an early version. Train times come from a community timetable and may be out of date, especially for special trains, cancellations and recent changes. Always check your train on IRCTC before you book or travel.
TrainYaar is not affiliated with Indian Railways, IRCTC or CRIS. It doesn't sell tickets, and it doesn't show seat availability. "Check on IRCTC" opens IRCTC's own website.
What's an estimate
- Fares are estimated from the Railway Board's published fare tables, including the 26 December 2025 revision. They leave out catering, Tatkal and flexi pricing, so premium trains such as Rajdhani, Shatabdi and Vande Bharat usually cost more.
- Drive times come from road maps and are adjusted for Indian traffic. Outside eastern India they're a rough distance-based estimate.
- Changing stations within a city uses rough travel times by cab or metro.
- Connections need a separate ticket for each train. If one train runs late, the next one isn't held for you.

Privacy
TrainYaar doesn't show ads or use cookies, there are no accounts, and there are no advertising or third-party trackers. If that changes, for example to show ads that keep the service free, we'll update this page first and ask for your consent where needed.
If you switch between the light and dark theme, your browser remembers your choice on your device; it isn't sent to us.
To keep the service working, the server counts searches per network address for a few minutes (to stop automated bulk copying) and may keep standard server logs for a short time.
To improve TrainYaar we keep only these, none of them linked to you or to each other:
- visitor numbers per day: how many people visited, which pages they viewed, the site that linked to us (just its name, such as google.com), whether it was a phone, tablet or computer, and how many searched, opened an option's details or clicked "Check on IRCTC". To count each visitor once a day, your network address and browser type are scrambled with a secret code that changes every day; the code and the scrambled values are deleted at midnight and only the day's totals are kept;
- how many searches there are each day;
- which places are searched between, as running totals (for example "Jamshedpur to Delhi: 120 searches"), without dates or times;
- place names that found nothing, so we can add them;
- problem reports you choose to send: what you picked, your note if you wrote one, and the trains and times of that option. Please don't put personal details in the note.
If you email us, we use your address only to reply to you, and we don't share it.
Terms of use
- TrainYaar is provided as is, for personal journey planning. We make no promise that times, fares, drive times or connections are correct or current, and we aren't responsible for missed trains, costs or other losses from relying on it.
- Don't use automated tools to copy, scrape or bulk-download data from TrainYaar or its API. The API is rate-limited and may block heavy use.
- Train names and numbers belong to Indian Railways. "IRCTC" is a name of Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Ltd; we link to its website but are not connected with it.
- These terms may change as the service develops. Continuing to use TrainYaar means accepting the current version.

For a problem with one option, "Report a problem with this option" in its details is quickest: it sends us the trains and times for you.
